Marlene and Friends at Sibyl Center

Marlene Jensen Hoirup, pianist, Stanley native, and co-artistic director for the Sibyl Center will present her annual summer program, Marlene and Friends, August 21st at 3pm.  She will be joined by guest musicians including her husband Don Hoirup, baritone.  The program will include classical and popular numbers from several ears.

A graduate of Northwestern University and the Juilliard School of Music, New York City, Marlene completed post graduate studies at the Hoch Schule for Musik, Frankfurt, Germany.

She previously taught at the Eastman School of Music, Rochester, NY; and Salem College, Winston-Salem, NC, and is currently on the faculty at Wake Forest University, Epiphany in Winston-Salem.  Marlene appears as a soloist and chamber musician and has performed throughout the United States and Germany including Voice of America radio broadcasts representing North Dakota.  Samples of Marlene's music can be heard at http://www.sibylcenter.org/x/music-1.htm

Following the program there will be a community potluck.  Suggested donation at the door: $5
